Yes, I mean you, specifically.
Why do you care? Why are you here?
Did you see a social media post that truly changed your perspective?
Did you watch a video that made you rethink everything you thought you knew?
Or perhaps, you came across a meme that was so relatable that you just couldn’t help but share it.
Here in India, we have this thing called Bollywood. You probably know what that is, and if you don’t, that’s basically the Indian equivalent of Hollywood, where acting dreams are made and broken.
Each day, hundreds of people pack their bags and bid goodbye to their families in various towns and cities and come to Mumbai, the city of stars. And yet, we only have about twenty actors with any noteworthy brand value at all.
Does this mean that everyone else is useless?
Nope, and in fact, I’d wager a bet that there are some immensely talented actors that have not been able to see the inside of a studio.
But the thing that these twenty ‘lucky’ ones have is memorability. That’s all. They have created such powerful content around their personal brands- from their ad choices to their Instagram feeds, and even the businesses that they support, that they have managed to create recall.
And so it is with content.
Do It With Love
Content creation is not an easy job. Every piece you put out there needs to be as perfect as you can make it today.
This is precisely where many small teams fail- we try to do too much in too little time. It is okay to start small. Have a plan for at least the first ninety days in place.
And remember- you are going to do most of the legwork, while also running your business. So be super mindful of that.
“But, can I do more if I outsource?”
Yes, you can, and most people do this. Which is where the ‘per word’ negotiations for blog posts come from. You want lots of content, fast, but would you rather do one good blog post a week, or five average ones instead?
“But, what if SEO is a big part of my marketing strategy?”
Even if that is the case, you won’t get far by writing thousands of keyword rich articles in one go. You need to build Domain Authority, and that comes from having high quality backlinks.
Where do high quality backlinks come from?
That’s correct, great content.
If you take just one thing away today, let it be this- in content marketing, slow and steady is always going to be better than fast and lost.
